Requirements for DPSA Psychiatry Medical Officer :-
Grade 1: A tertiary qualification (MBCHB or equivalent), plus Current registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as a Medical Practitioner. Grade 2: A tertiary qualification (MBCHB or equivalent), plus Current registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as a Medical Practitioner. Five (5) years post registration experience as a Medical Practitioner. Grade 3: A tertiary qualification (MBCHB or equivalent), plus Current registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as a Medical Practitioner. Ten (10) years post registration experience as a Medical Practitioner. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of General management principles of all paediatric and neonatal patients. Good communication skills. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Resilience and ability to cope with change. Ability to make a difference.
DUTIES : Clinical paediatric services including ward rounds, outpatient clinics and emergency department. Participation in the training programme as well as teaching and supervision of junior staff. Participation in departmental audit activities. Conduct Research. Maintain and continuously improve professional and ethical standards Perform overtime in line with hospital needs.
