Requirements for DPSA Municipal Asset Management Director :-
A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) as recognised by SAQA in Financial Management/ Accounting/ Auditing/Internal Auditing/ Cost Management or Cost Accounting. 3-5 years’ supervisory and people management experience. 5 years of experience in Asset Management. At least 3 years working experience in local government or Provincial Treasuries’ MFMA Unit. Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations, SA Constitution, Disaster Management Act, Electricity and Water Act, Municipal Finance Management Act and Regulations.
DUTIES : Manage and provide leadership to the sub-directorate. Provide and manage the monitoring of asset management issues in local authorities and advice, guidance and provide remedial actions where required includes inventory management. Manage the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on compliance by municipalities with asset practices against the legislated prescripts. Provide and manage support to municipalities pertaining to municipal asset management.
