Requirements for DPSA Health Promoter :-
Minimum requirement: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7). Experience: Appropriate experience in working in communities and informal settlements. Inherent requirement of the job: A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Computer literacy.
DUTIES : Render a high standard of health education and support service to clients. Plan and implement health projects in facilities, schools, and communities to meet health objectives. Assist and strengthen COPC in the community. Liaise with the community’s health co-ordinating structures, departments, local government and other stakeholders to promote an integrated approach to health care. Implement service delivery programmes. Ensure effective and efficient utilisation of all available resources. Keep an effective record of activities and consumables. Ensure a purposeful integration of health education and promotion service provision with services provided (health facility, stakeholders and other community-based services).
