Requirements for DPSA Deputy Manager Primary Health Care :-

Basic qualification (diploma/degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Post basic qualification (will be an added advantage). Current registration with the SANC. A minimum of 09 years appropriate/recognisable Nursing experience after registration SANC in General Nursing. At least 4 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level. Other Skills/Requirements: Administrative and advanced Computer literacy to write reports plus District Health Management to be able to develop the Regional Health and Project Management, more experience in the Primary Health Care setting. Knowledge of the application of the relevant statutes and policies governing the public service and health care sciences. Knowledge of the Performance Management and Development System. Knowledge and application of the Constitution; National Health Act; Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations. Understanding the application of the Batho-Pele principles, Patients’ rights charter and quality assurance system. Well-developed communication, presentation, negotiation and research skills. Strategic, operational and people management skills. Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and health users and givers. Facilitation and co-ordination skills. Problem solving, planning and organizing skills. Computer literacy and report writing skills. Applicants to possess driver’s license. NB!! A practical test relating to key areas of knowledge and skills may form part of the selection process for this position.
