Inherent requirements of the job: Physically fit to perform duties and work at heights and in confined spaces. Work overtime should the need arise, day or night, and perform standby duties. Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license. Willingness to travel and work at all Public Health Institutions within the Central Karoo District, should the need arise. Willingness to perform over a spectrum of technical trades and continual training in these. Competencies (knowledge/skills) A practical, working knowledge of the requirements of the Machinery, and Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85). Able to interpret and apply regulations. A practical, working knowledge of the working principle, parts and assembly, testing, routine & breakdown maintenance of the following: Domestic and light commercial laundry and kitchen equipment. Access control, Fire Detection and Electrical Fencing Hardware. Basic building 126 terminology and construction.
